Discipleship:
 Letter to Parents

As I pray for the students of Redeemer I ask that they might learn their Bibles, that they stay strong in moral decisions, that they become more involved in the life of the church, but most of all my prayer for students at Redeemer is that they love Christ more than anything else in life. One area where our ministry is working towards that end is in our Sunday Night Discipleship Groups, where both the Junior High (6th – 8th grade) and High School (9th – 12th) students are currently learning and discussing spiritual disciplines. This time is designed for growing closer to Christ in our daily walks, but is also a great time of true fellowship as we develop deeper relationships with each other through our common goal of glorifying Christ. My hope is that every covenant child at Redeemer will join in our Sunday Night Discipleship groups. I ask you as parent to make this a weekly priority for your family. The last command that Christ gave, often called the Great Commission, was, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.” Let us not forget our own children when we read these words of Christ. During covenant baptisms we as a congregation agree to, “undertake the responsibility of assisting the parents in the Christian nurture of [their] child.” Sunday Night Discipleship is one of the primary places where we intentionally seek to do just that. Please prayerfully consider making Sunday nights part of your family’s schedule as you all prepare to go out into the world each week.
